Our Story

Legal services built
for real people.

Civic Legal Services was founded on a simple belief: that quality legal representation at Ontario's tribunals and courts should be accessible — not just to those who can afford a Bay Street retainer.

GTA-based. Community-focused.

Civic Legal Services is a Greater Toronto Area legal practice specializing in tribunal and court representation — including the Landlord and Tenant Board, Small Claims Court, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and Provincial Offences matters.

We work with landlords, tenants, businesses, and individuals across a 100 km radius of Toronto — from Oakville to Oshawa, from Barrie to Burlington. We show up in person, we prepare thoroughly, and we represent our clients with the same dedication regardless of the dollar amount at stake.

The name Civic Legal is intentional. Our work lives at the intersection of everyday civic life — housing, disputes, rights, and accountability. These matters shape how people live, work, and interact with their community.

Prepared before
we ever walk in.

We believe the outcome of most tribunal hearings is decided long before the hearing date — in how thoroughly the case is prepared, how clearly the submissions are organized, and how well the advocate understands the rules.

Every file we take on gets the same treatment: a full review, a clear strategy, plain-language communication with our client, and rigorous preparation. We don't show up to wing it.

Our consultations are always free. We'll tell you honestly what we think your options are — even if the answer is that you may not need representation.

What we stand for.

Accessibility

Legal representation at tribunals shouldn't require a $400/hr lawyer. We offer fair, transparent fees and serve the full socioeconomic spectrum of the GTA.

Transparency

You'll always know the fee before we start, understand what we're doing and why, and hear our honest assessment — not what you want to hear.

Community

We are a GTA firm, serving GTA residents and businesses. We understand the local housing market, local courts, and local community dynamics.
